We have an excellent course designed for EMS staff caring for pregnant women during birth and postpartum period. It is created by a Certified Nurse Midwife with extensive experience in out-of-hospital births and saw the impact of breakdowns in communication and education between midwives and EMS personnel.

To improve safety and patient satisfaction during transport, this 20+hr training course was created! We go over direct clinical application methods to use when transporting emergency and non-emergency situations for pregnant women and their newborns. Topics we go over pregnancy changes, pregnancy complications, normal birth, labor support, complications of birth, physiological birth, newborn care, breastfeeding support, postpartum complications, newborn assessment, and newborn complications during transition. There is so much midwives and EMS can do to support each other and our families choosing an out of hospital birth experience and this training is the next step in bridging that gap.
