For years, mental health has been criminally neglected. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the birthing industry. Only recently have people started normalizing the mental health struggles that are so common within the birthing population. Because discussion is still so new, many people don’t reach out for the help they desperately need until it’s almost too late.
As midwives, we have the honor and the responsibility to help people who might be struggling with their mental health. This is why we’ve created this vital course. With over 23 hours of information-rich content, you’ll have the tools you need to address mental health struggles in both yourself and your clients. The course is led by Dr. Jill Chasse, a professional who has spent over 20 years studying public health and Indigenous medicine as well as psychology. In this course, she combines her first-hand experience with evidence to help you enrich your practice.
In Comprehensive Mental Health for Midwives & Advanced Practice Providers, you’ll learn all about different factors and disparities that can exacerbate mental health struggles. We’ll discuss symptoms of mental health disorders within the general population as well as what to look for in your clients. We’ll talk about how to both prevent and treat mental health disorders during the postpartum phase. You’ll learn how to create a positive work environment and how to assist your colleagues with mental health struggles. Finally, we’ll discuss technical aspects such as billing for treatment for these disorders.
At Empowering Midwifery Education, we’re here to ensure you’re constantly learning and growing! Once you buy this course, you’ll have lifetime access and can revisit as needed.
