We do everything we can to make sure our clients have a positive birth experience. Whether we’re picking out cozy decorations for our birth centers or studying services to make sure we’re always on the cutting edge, our dedication means we’re constantly learning. And while going through the regulations and the accreditation process might be cumbersome, it is crucial. By making sure we know these rules like the back of our hand, we can continue to keep our centers open while providing the safest services for our clients.
We developed our course, Birth Center State Regulations & CABC Accreditation Process, to help you stay current on the rules. The class contains over 8 hours of content explaining everything you need to know for your birth center. The course is taught by Leslie Cornwell, a certified nurse midwife who has spent over 16 years navigating the ins and outs of the healthcare industry. Leslie has helped countless midwives set up their practice and has become an expert at making sure they meet the regulations. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the difference between state and federal requirements. We have broken down the required certification state-by-state so you can focus on your own location and ensure you’re set up for success. By the end, you’ll feel confident that your birth center is completely up to code!
At Empowering Midwifery Education, we want to ensure you’re constantly learning and growing! Once you buy this course, you’ll have lifetime access and can revisit as needed. You’ll have access to any future course updates free of charge. The class is virtual and gives you the ability to learn at your own pace so you can fit it around your busy schedule. You’ll also be able to ask questions throughout and get answers from our expert instructors. We can’t wait to help you unlock your potential by equipping you with knowledge!

Becoming a midwife has been a lifelong dream. I didn't realize that this wonderful profession would lead me down the path of business. I have found over the years that midwives need to understand business, accounting, financing, marketing, negotiating, and so much more to be successful in today's healthcare system. I love supporting women. By being able to participate in leadership roles and create amazing private practices, I can support midwives just as much as the pregnant women they care for! I am passionate about women's empowerment and women's business ownership. We can serve families best with independent, successful midwifery practices.
I have over 16 years’ of experience in health care. I have worked in hospitals, birth centers, and home settings. I have worked for large non-profit hospitals, small community hospitals, privately run birth centers, hospital-owned birth centers, my own home birth/birth center practice, and locum assignments. Being able to understand the business and financial side of midwifery has shown me how much easier a midwife's practice can be profitable and successful in today's health care ever-changing climate.
Let me help you start your own practice or improve the current midwifery business you are struggling with. I have years of billing, accounting, contracting, business plan writing, and midwifery clinical expertise to make your midwifery practice thrive no matter what stage it is in! Whether you want a small home birth practice, large birth center practice, or booming hospital midwifery practice, I can provide guidance, support, and resources to make your midwifery practice dreams a reality!
